Our story

A Bottle of Meursault

How one glass of white Burgundy became a promise to the people who make the wine we love.

Promised Cask was born from a shared love of wine, in particular, a memorable glass of Meursault.

The winemaker

We were listening to the winemaker tell the story of what was in our glass, why it meant so much to him, and the care and love that he poured into every bottle.

The promise

That day, we made a promise: to create a project that would give more people the chance to tell their stories, especially those who may never have had the opportunity before.

Because wine isn't just about the grapes. It's about the care, attention, time, and effort of the people who turn them into something extraordinary. Too often, these voices go unheard.

Our belief
From bottle to glass, we believe every sip should create a memory.
The promise kept

At Promised Cask, we seek out wines of exceptional quality from around the world, each rich with history and meaning, stories you can share with your customers, your family, or your friends. And maybe, just maybe, each one will be as unforgettable as our Meursault.

Who we are

The people behind Promised Cask

Daniel and Samuel have been friends for 15 years. The idea for Promised Cask was conceived at a Burgundy en primeur tasting, and the business grew out of that friendship rather than a business plan, which is part of why the relationships behind it, with producers, restaurants, and clients, tend to last.

Daniel Daly

Director & Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager

Daniel trained as a private chef, giving him direct experience in food and wine pairing. He curates the wine list personally, sourcing distinctive bottles and shaping the offer around how restaurants and their guests actually eat and drink. He is currently awaiting his results for the WSET Diploma (DipWSET, Level 4).

Samuel Harwood

Director, Co-Founder & Head of Sales

Samuel leads sales and marketing at Promised Cask. A financial services professional by background, he draws on that commercial experience and his client-facing network to build the relationships that underpin the business, from producers in Europe to restaurants and hotels in the UK.
