Henri Darnat has been a négociant house in the heart of Meursault since the nineteenth century, run by the same family since 1985, small enough to still hand-select every parcel, patient enough to let a vintage speak for itself. This 2004 "Clos du Domaine" has had over twenty years in bottle: the kind of maturity that takes real cellar space and real time, neither of which most of us have the patience for.

Expect classic mature white Burgundy, cedary, mealy notes on the nose, a touch of smart oak, a creamy palate that finishes with chalky precision. 13% ABV, ready to drink now.

We only have one case of this. Once it's gone, there isn't more coming.

A note on age: white Burgundy from this era can be prone to premature oxidation ("premox") and other natural variation that comes with over two decades in bottle, colour, aroma or condition that shifts from what you would expect in a younger wine. This is a well-documented characteristic of mature white Burgundy generally, not a fault specific to this bottle, and it is part of what you are buying into with a wine this old. We cannot offer returns on the basis of natural ageing characteristics, though our standard policy for genuine faults (corked, leaking, damaged in transit) still applies.
