Eocene Pinot Noir 2021
Scorpo Wines
From Paul Scorpo's own vineyard in Merricks North on the Mornington Peninsula, this is Pinot Noir grown the hard way: planted at nearly ten thousand vines per hectare, the "Eocene" site is worked by hand from picking through to bottling. Wild yeast fermentation, minimal intervention, aged in French oak and bottled without fining or filtration, letting the site speak for itself rather than smoothing it over.
Expect real complexity in the glass: dark cherry and bramble fruit sitting alongside notes of forest floor, mushroom and gentle spice, with fine, savoury tannins giving it real structure.
A cool-climate Pinot with genuine Old World restraint, made in one of Australia's most quietly serious vineyards.
